Filling the Furnace

Filling my family's wood burning furnace used to bug me to no end.... but then the fire went out. And I just considered saying, "Whatever, who needs warm air?!"
Dumb question, no one wants to be cold. Ever. SO, I put my hair up, put on a coat and my dirty sneakers(you know the ones I wear to cowtown and get all gross and greasy? yeah, those ones.) I bring a lighter that barely works, a few tealights and a bunch of cardboard and paper outside with me.
Hehe, after a few minutes of lighting the paper AND THEN throwing it into the furnace to burn... it made me feel a little better about the situation. (Sandi, it is my inner pyrokinesis calling...) no it isn't that, I just think it is interesting watching a piece of paper burn in front of you. Watching the fire eat every shred of color on the paper... It's quite mesmerizing...
I guess it's a good thing I got an idea that had to do with fire. Readers beware.

Names Matter...

Does the name of a character matter..? I think it should... I mean you wouldn't want a Jurrien and Bryan going on a journey together. But Jurrien and Thamar went on a journey together... It has a much better ring to it.
SO, even though it can be hard to come up with some cool names, do it!
The names don't effect the story, but they do make it a little more fun. That way when you hear the name Jurrien or Thamar, you think of that awesome story you're working on.... :D (SANDI...)
That's it, I must go write my book... and do school work. Perhaps in reverse order though.

ALSO, if can't even come up with a name for a minor character... go to some baby naming websites. Your web history might be funny to other people, but it will be very helpful. (trust me, I've done it myself.)

I have an unhealthy obsession...

With Arrow. Uggggh!!! The show is just so good! The blonde chick, Felicity... LOVE HER! Just watched the newest episode, Tommy I now have a new respect for... And Oliver. :D hehe
But seriously if I could manage to get the kind of suspense from a show like that... And morph it somehow into my writing..? I'd be one happy girl.

My characters... They just don't have enough depth. Skandar, Exaivier and Dezra do, but Skyler and Chandler..? I don't even know about Skandar. He is... Such an airhead... Except... No.... Airhead wouldn't be the right word to describe Skandar. More like goofball. What I like about Skandar though is that he has a lot of mysterious background. Exaivier, well f course HE does too, but his is different... Exaivier was fulfilling a purpose. Skandar...? We have no idea what he went through growing up... Well I do, you no one else does. Mwahahahaha!!! Don't worry, book 3, will be full if flash backs concerning Skandar.

Just thoughts...

My favorite part of writing is losing myself in the story. Letting my imagination run free and almost... Almost, feeling like my characters are real, and are standing behind you recounting a dear memory while I just jot it down...
Everyone knows life would be more exciting with magic flowing through the air like a light breeze. While there are dragon riders, elves, hobbits, secret wardrobes, schools of magic, demigods, mistborn, windspren, and Returned.. I can't deny that it would be super awesome. But we have our own super powers inside of us..
Sure they aren't the same as Superman's or Harry Potter's... But we are literally gods in making. Heavenly Father's DNA is ours. We are his children, and he wants us to live with him again. We all must do all we can to prepare for that. Maybe we won't be sent to over throw the one called Lord Ruler with only the power of allomancy.... Or to simply walk into Mordor. But we need to make our time count, because so much depends on this life.
Life is a wonderful gift, and the idea of having it for eternity is definitely something to get excited about, even more so than going to Hogwarts or Narnia.

How I imagine Skyler...

Well she has blue eyes... But in the bottom left corners there is a patch of green. :) Brown hair, not light or dark. Just brown. But a good brown. She isn't uber tall, but she also isn't any shorter than 5'7". She is skinny, she is the Enchantress after all. Trains with her sword how often? Not to mention she gains a bunch of muscle over the two year training session...

She wears mostly white...knee high boots, button up shirt, leather pants, oh and don't forget the cloak. (my favorite of all is the cloak.)

Thoughts on Dezra and Exaivier...

Given their situation, obviously Exaivier does not want to trust Dezra... Dezra worked for the Alchemist for how long and tried to trick him how many times?! Actually I have no idea, but imagine quite a few. You would be wary of Dezra as well... All things considered, I do want the Guardian to warm up to Dezra at some point in the story. I have a few ideas.. Although that isn't exactly a good thing.

1. We could wait for Cari to show up and taunt Exaivier, tease him a bit for not believing in Dezra... Sad that he has to hear it from the most evil person in the story before he actually believes his brothers claims...

2. Dezra could die... :( although I really do not want that to happen because I just love him so much. He is probably my deepest character... Besides Exaivier of course. And while Dezra is lying on the ground dying, Exaivier realizes that his brother was telling the truth... Sad sad sad.

3. A good combination of the two... Maybe..? Ugh if I do one ill probably end up doing both.

4. When *she* comes back, she remembered who killed her and why he did what he did... She manages to talk some much needed sense into Exaivier which then brings out the awkward apologies... I hate writing awkward scenes. Reunions especially... I normally skip the first 25 minutes of them, after all the crying and emotional hugs are over with.

5. Exaivier never does trust Dezra. Uh no. I don't like that. Never mind, that idea is going in the garbage.

Also, if Exaivier is so reluctant to trust his brother... Then shouldn very one else be the same way..? First to warm up is definitely Chandler, given that he went through the same thing Dezra did... Only on a MUCH smaller scale. Next will be Skyler... Of course most of this will not happen until probably the end of The Healer's Fall or beginning of The Guardian's Rise...
Oh so much to think about...

I'm back.

Okay, let's see how long this lasts... "I'm back and I'm flapping free! Let me tell you a story, it all about... *CUE SCARY MUSIC!* YO the name is BATTY, the logic is erratic. Potato in a jacket." Just kidding. That's from Fern Gully. Bwahaha! I'm just excited that i am into blogging again. I'm looking at it in a different perspective. Don't judge my thoughts, they are mine, not yours.
